Origin & ingredients
100% Raw New Zealand Monofloral Manuka Honey
New Zealand. Ethically sourced from remote, undisturbed hive locations across Aotearoa New Zealand
Our honey jars are made from RPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) - a durable, lightweight and food-safe packaging material made using recycled PET. By choosing RPET, we're giving existing plastic materials another life while providing the strength and protection needed to keep your honey safe from our hive to your home.
Taste & texture
Full-bodied and herbaceous with caramel undertones. Thick enough to hold on the spoon.
Manuka gets its flavour from the nectar of the Manuka flower. The higher the UMF™ grade, the more of Manuka's natural compounds the honey contains, and the stronger those flavours become: less sweet, darker, earthier, with a slightly bitter, herbal edge. That's why UMF™ 10+ tastes close to everyday honey, and UMF™ 24+ and above taste bolder and more intense. It's a sign of genuine, high-grade Manuka, not a fault.
Honey is a natural product, so colour, flavour and texture can vary from batch to batch with the season and the region the hives were in. Two jars of the same grade may look or taste a little different.
Store at room temperature. No refrigeration needed.Crystallisation is natural and doesn't affect quality.

Trust us, you're in good hands.
These are the checks that stand between the hive and your spoon, and what each one actually proves. We only deal in real.

The UMF™ grading system appraises natural markers found in Manuka honey and assures purity and quality.
It's the clearest way to know a jar is real Manuka, and we publish the certificate for every batch.

Our honey is certified and in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard.
Bees travel a long way from home, so the land around every hive is checked too, not just the honey in the jar.

Every batch of our honey is tested in independent laboratories to ensure it is glyphosate free.
Glyphosate is the world's most common weedkiller and it turns up in honey. We test every batch, not just a sample.

Certified by FIANZ, The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (Inc).
Honey shouldn't be the thing you have to think twice about. More families can share the same jar.

We are Fernmark accredited and approved by the NZ Government as a trusted exporter.
Real Manuka can only come from New Zealand, the same way Champagne only comes from Champagne.

Our independent certification shows you the exact MGO levels in our Manuka honey.
MGO is the strength figure. Printing ours means you can compare our jars against anything on the shelf.
FAQs
Everything people ask us most about UMF™ grades, storage and subscriptions. Still stuck? Contact us and our team will help.
How do I know this Manuka honey is genuine?
Every batch is independently tested and certified under the UMF™ grading system. Scan the QR code on your jar to view the certificate and trace exactly where in New Zealand your honey came from.
Is UMF™ 20+ considered high potency? Who is it best for?
Yes — UMF™ 20+ is a high-strength grade with MGO 829+. It contains a significantly higher concentration of naturally occurring methylglyoxal compared to entry-level grades. It's popular with customers who want elevated potency while still using it regularly in smaller amounts.
What's the difference between UMF™ 20+ and UMF™ 15+ or 24+?
UMF™ 15+ has MGO 514+, UMF™ 20+ has MGO 829+, and UMF™ 24+ has MGO 1122+. UMF™ 20+ hits a sweet spot — strong enough for those who want serious potency, but still versatile for daily use.
Why is UMF™ 20+ more expensive than lower grades?
Higher UMF™ grades are naturally rarer — they occur in smaller quantities during harvest and must pass more rigorous independent testing. That scarcity and certification process is what drives the price difference.
What does UMF™ 20+ taste like?
UMF™ 20+ has a rich, full-bodied flavour with a bold Manuka depth. The higher the potency, the deeper and more complex the taste profile. Many customers describe it as smooth with a satisfying intensity.
How much should I take and how do I use it?
Most people take ½ to 1 teaspoon a day. Because it's a higher-strength grade, some prefer smaller daily amounts. Enjoy it straight from the spoon, in warm (not boiling) water or tea, or drizzled over food.
Is this honey raw and can I trace where it came from?
Yes — our honey is 100% raw and nothing is added at any stage. Every jar is fully traceable from hive to home. Just scan the QR code on the lid to see the UMF™ certificate and find out exactly where in New Zealand it was harvested.
How should I store Manuka honey and does it expire?
Keep it below 20°C, out of direct sunlight, and make sure the lid is sealed tightly. Manuka honey has an incredibly long shelf life — properly stored, it remains stable well beyond the best-before date.
What does UMF™ 20+ mean?
UMF™ 20+ is a quality grade certified by the Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association. Certification tests four natural markers in the honey (leptosperin, methylglyoxal, DHA and HMF), which together confirm the honey is genuine New Zealand Manuka and rate its strength. The higher the number, the more concentrated the honey's natural Manuka compounds. Every jar has a QR code on the lid, so you can pull up the UMF™ certificate for your exact batch and see where in New Zealand it was harvested.
What's the difference between UMF™ and MGO?
MGO measures one compound, methylglyoxal, in milligrams per kilogram. UMF™ is a full certification that tests four markers, including MGO, and also verifies the honey is genuine monofloral Manuka from New Zealand. Every UMF™ grade has an MGO equivalent: 10+ is MGO 263+, 15+ is 514+, 20+ is 829+, 24+ is 1122+, 26+ is 1282+ and 28+ is 1450+.
What's the difference between the grades, and which should I choose?
They're the same honey at different concentrations of natural Manuka compounds, and flavour follows the grade: mild and sweet at the lower numbers, bold and intense at the top. UMF™ 10+ and 15+ are kitchen staples, mild and easy-going, the natural place to start and the easiest to cook and bake with. UMF™ 20+ and 24+ are our daily wellness grades and our best sellers: rich and full-bodied, a clear step up in strength but still versatile enough for every day. UMF™ 26+ and 28+ are premium strength, darker and more concentrated again, usually enjoyed in smaller amounts straight off the spoon. You're currently looking at UMF™ 20+ (MGO 829+).
Is this raw honey? Is it pasteurised?
Our honey is 100% raw and has not been pasteurised. Nothing is added at any stage of production, so what reaches you is the honey as it exists in the hive after extraction.
Is this monofloral or multifloral Manuka?
All our Manuka honey is monofloral, which means the bees foraged mainly on Manuka flowers. It's the grade UMF™ certification requires, and we test every batch to confirm it.
Where in New Zealand does it come from?
Our honey is harvested from various regions in New Zealand, where Manuka grows wild. You'll be able to find out exactly where your Manuka Honey has come from when you scan the QR code on your jar. Manuka flowers for only a few weeks each summer, and the hives are placed in remote areas away from farmland and roads.
Why is Manuka honey more expensive than regular honey?
Manuka flowers for only two to eight weeks a year, and only in New Zealand. The hives sit in rugged, remote country, and yields vary with the weather. Around 2,800 tonnes of Manuka honey are produced each year, against roughly 1.9 million tonnes of other honey globally, and that has to supply the whole world. Every batch is then independently tested and certified. The higher the UMF™ grade, the less of it exists, which is why prices rise across the range.
Can I stir it into hot tea or coffee?
Yes, as long as it's warm rather than boiling. Let your drink cool for a minute or two, then stir the honey through. Boiling liquid damages the natural enzymes and the active compounds behind the UMF™ grade, so a high grade stops being worth it. It's also lovely on toast, stirred through yoghurt or oats, or straight off the spoon.
Is it suitable for children?
Manuka honey can be enjoyed by the whole family as part of a balanced diet. As with all honey, it isn't suitable for infants under 18 months old. If you have any questions about your child's diet, we'd suggest speaking with your doctor.
Is it vegan?
No. Honey is made by bees, so it isn't suitable for a vegan diet. It is suitable for vegetarians.
Is Manuka honey gluten free?
Yes. Our Manuka honey is 100% honey and nothing else, so it is naturally gluten free. There are no additives, fillers or grain-derived ingredients, and it is also dairy free and suitable for paleo and vegetarian diets.

Methylglyoxal, a natural compound in Manuka honey. The number is milligrams per kilogram, so MGO 829+ means at least 829mg in every kilo of this jar.
